Payment Before Delivery

Why the purchase is completed before carrier release.

1. Confirm PurchasePayment confirms the buyer, product and purchase amount before release.
2. Prepare DocumentsOwnership-transfer, invoice and release documents are matched to the confirmed transaction.
3. Authorize ReleaseThe product is released to the carrier only after the required purchase steps are complete.
4. Protection ContinuesApplicable return and warranty protection continues after payment and delivery under the written terms.
Why payment is not collected on delivery
Vehicles and other high-value assets may require buyer-specific ownership documents, release authorization and carrier records before leaving their location. Delivery is therefore the fulfillment stage of a completed transaction, not a cash-on-delivery sale. Completing payment first allows the buyer, product, documents and shipping release to be matched before transportation begins.

Your protection does not end when payment is completed. Applicable 30-day return, six-month limited-warranty, inspection, shipping and transaction-document terms continue according to their written conditions. Review the listing and transaction documents and contact Buyer Support before sending funds if any transaction detail does not match.

INVENTORY SOURCES

Where Our Vehicles Come From

Under5K inventory may be sourced through established institutional, commercial, fleet, financial, government, dealer, lease-end, recovery and asset-disposition channels across the United States. The source, available records and transaction documentation can vary by individual listing.

Vehicle source describes the channel through which an asset became available for remarketing. It does not, by itself, determine the vehicle’s mechanical condition, cosmetic condition, title status, accident history, service history or eligibility for a particular transaction. Buyers should rely on the information and documents provided for the specific listing.

Common Inventory Channels

Bank & Lender RepossessionsVehicles released for resale through authorized lender recovery, repossession and asset-disposition channels. Available history and documentation depend on the individual asset and transaction.
Government & Municipal SurplusRetired fleet vehicles and surplus assets made available through public-sector replacement, surplus or disposition programs.
Corporate & Commercial FleetsVehicles remarketed following fleet replacement, operational changes or commercial asset-management cycles.
Rental & Lease RemarketingVehicles reaching the end of scheduled rental, lease or fleet-service cycles and released into authorized remarketing channels.
Dealer & Institutional TradesTrade-ins, excess inventory and non-core assets remarketed through dealer, wholesale or institutional channels.
Recovery & Asset DispositionEligible assets made available through authorized recovery, liquidation, surplus and disposition programs.

How Inventory Reaches the Marketplace

Inventory can enter the resale market for many reasons unrelated to the physical condition of the product. A fleet may replace vehicles on a scheduled cycle, a lender may dispose of a recovered asset, a government organization may retire surplus equipment, or a dealer or institution may remarket inventory that no longer fits its operating needs.

Under5K presents the available product-specific information for each listing so buyers can evaluate the actual asset rather than assuming that every vehicle from the same source category has the same history or condition.

What Vehicle Source Does — and Does Not — Tell You

What It Can Tell You

The source category can provide context about the channel through which the vehicle or asset became available for resale, such as fleet replacement, lender recovery, government surplus, lease-end remarketing or institutional disposition.

What It Does Not Guarantee

A source category does not automatically establish mechanical condition, cosmetic condition, prior use, accident history, maintenance history, title status, remaining service life or warranty coverage. Those matters must be evaluated from the specific listing and available documentation.

Source Information & Documentation

Documentation can differ substantially between assets. Depending on the listing and source channel, available records may include ownership or title-related documents, VIN or serial information, odometer information, condition or inspection records, service or completed-work information, release or disposition records and other transaction-related documents.

Not every source provides the same records, and the absence of a particular historical document does not mean that Under5K creates or substitutes information that was not available. Listing-specific information is presented according to the records and product information available for that asset.

VIN, Title & Ownership Information

Where a vehicle has a VIN, the available VIN is associated with that specific listing and may be restricted to verified-member access. Other assets may use a serial number or another product identifier where applicable.

Title status and ownership-transfer documentation are listing- and transaction-specific. Buyers should review the title or ownership information disclosed for the product and the applicable transaction documents. Registration, title-transfer, tax and inspection requirements can vary by state and product type.

Condition, History & Disclosures

The condition of a used vehicle or recreational asset can vary regardless of its source. Listing information may include mileage or operating hours, photographs, video, condition notes, accident-history information when available, inspection findings, completed work, service information and other disclosures relevant to the specific product.

Buyers should review these materials together rather than treating the source category as a substitute for condition or history information.

Inspection & Service Information

Where available, inspection information and completed-work details are presented for the individual listing. These records can help explain the condition observed or work completed before the product is offered through the marketplace.

Inspection or service information does not convert a source category into a condition guarantee. Any applicable warranty coverage is governed by the written warranty and Buyer Protection terms for the eligible transaction.

Listing-Specific Shipping & Transaction Terms

Source location and disposition channel do not determine the buyer’s shipping responsibility. Shipping may be free, buyer-paid, shared, included or otherwise arranged according to the specific listing and final transaction documents.

Likewise, bidding availability, Buy It Now pricing, return eligibility, warranty coverage and transaction documentation are determined by the applicable listing and transaction terms rather than by the source category alone.

Buyer Review Before Bidding or Purchasing

Before placing a bid or initiating a Buy It Now transaction, buyers should review the complete listing, available photographs and video, VIN or serial information where applicable, condition and inspection information, shipping terms, Buyer Protection information and available transaction documentation.

If a source, title, condition, inspection or transaction detail is unclear, contact Buyer Support before completing the purchase.

Source information is listing-specific.
Under5K does not represent that every asset comes from the same channel or includes the same records. The individual listing and final transaction documents provide the information applicable to that product and purchase.

BUYER INFORMATION

Protection & Support

Review Buyer Protection or contact Support with a question about a specific listing before bidding or purchasing.

BUYER PROTECTION

Buyer Protection

Under5K buyer protection is designed to make the transaction process understandable before purchase, during payment and shipping, and after documented delivery. The protections below apply to eligible purchases according to the listing, final Buyers Guide, written warranty and transaction documents.

30-Day Return Protection

For an eligible purchase, the 30-calendar-day return period begins on the documented delivery date. The buyer must contact Buyer Support within that period and obtain written return authorization before shipping, surrendering or otherwise returning the product.

Covered seller-responsibility returnIf an approved return results from a verified covered condition, material listing error or documentation issue attributable to Under5K, Under5K arranges or reimburses the approved return transportation and processes the eligible refund under the transaction documents.
Buyer-preference returnFor an otherwise eligible return requested because the buyer changes their mind or prefers another product, the buyer is responsible for return transportation and permitted non-covered costs.
Condition at returnOwnership/title documents, keys, accessories and other items delivered with the product must be returned. Material alteration, missing items, abuse or substantial post-delivery damage may affect eligibility or the refundable amount to the extent permitted by law.
Authorization requiredDo not ship a return without written return authorization. Buyer Support provides the applicable instructions and confirms the return destination and transportation procedure.

6-Month Limited Warranty

For six months from documented delivery, Under5K pays 100% of approved parts and labor for a defect specifically covered by the written warranty when the condition existed at delivery or results from a covered component failure that was not caused by the buyer.

Covered systems

When identified in the vehicle-specific written warranty, covered systems may include approved engine, transmission, drivetrain, steering, braking, cooling, fuel, electrical and related operating components. Diagnosis and authorization are required before repair except where immediate action is reasonably necessary to prevent additional damage.

What is not covered

Buyer-caused collision damage, misuse, abuse, racing, overloading, neglect, failure to maintain, continued operation after a warning or known failure, unauthorized modifications or repairs, cosmetic damage, routine maintenance, normal wear and consumable items are excluded unless the written warranty specifically states otherwise.

If the problem is covered, the approved repair is our responsibility.
If the damage or condition was caused by the buyer or is excluded by the written warranty, the resulting repair or related cost is the buyer's responsibility. Contact Buyer Support before authorizing warranty work whenever reasonably possible.

Payment Before Delivery

Under5K purchases are completed before carrier release because delivery is the fulfillment stage of a completed transaction, not a cash-on-delivery sale. Vehicles and other high-value assets may require buyer-specific ownership-transfer documents, invoice records, release authorization, carrier scheduling and transportation documents before leaving their location.

1. Purchase confirmationThe buyer, product and purchase amount are confirmed before the asset is released.
2. Transaction documentsApplicable invoice, ownership-transfer and release documents are prepared for the confirmed buyer and transaction.
3. Carrier releaseThe carrier receives release and transportation information only after the required transaction steps are complete.
4. Protection continuesCompleting payment does not cancel the applicable return, warranty, inspection, shipping or written transaction protections.
Before sending funds
Review the listing, VIN or serial information when available, inspection and condition information, purchase amount, shipping arrangement, return terms and warranty terms. Use only the payment instructions provided through the official Under5K transaction process. Contact Buyer Support before payment if any material transaction detail does not match.

Inspection & Service Information

Listings may include inspection results, completed-work information and supporting condition details. Buyers should review the information available for the specific product before completing a purchase. Where an inspection report is available, a verified buyer may request it through the listing.

Shipping, Delivery & Documentation

Shipping responsibility is listing-specific and may be free, buyer-paid, shared or otherwise stated for the transaction. Final route, carrier, timing, pickup method and applicable transportation terms are confirmed as the transaction progresses. Applicable transaction documentation may include invoices, purchase agreements, Bills of Sale, ownership/title-transfer documents, shipping records and delivery or acceptance records.

How to Request Help

For a return, warranty claim, delivery concern or discrepancy, contact Buyer Support as soon as reasonably possible and keep the relevant photos, receipts, inspection information, delivery records and transaction documents. Support will provide the applicable next steps and any required authorization.

Transaction-specific documents control.
The listing, final Buyers Guide, separate written warranty and final transaction documents establish the exact protection applicable to a specific purchase. Rights that cannot be waived under applicable state or federal law remain unaffected.
SHIPPING & DELIVERY

Shipping & Delivery

Under5K Auctions coordinates shipping and delivery for inventory sold through the marketplace. The exact arrangement for each transaction depends on the individual listing, asset type, origin and destination, carrier availability, route conditions and any special handling requirements.

Purchase completion before shipping
Marketplace purchases are completed and cleared before carrier release. This allows the buyer, product, payment status, ownership-transfer documentation, release authorization and transportation records to be matched to the transaction before the asset enters shipment. Delivery is not a cash-on-delivery transaction. Applicable written return and warranty protections continue according to their terms after payment and delivery.

How Shipping Works

1. Transaction ConfirmedThe order, payment requirements, buyer information and listing-specific shipping terms are confirmed.
2. Release ClearedRequired payment confirmation and applicable transaction documentation are completed before the asset is authorized for carrier pickup.
3. Carrier & Route CoordinatedThe appropriate transportation arrangement is selected according to the asset, origin, destination, route and handling requirements.
4. Pickup ScheduledA pickup window is coordinated after release authorization and carrier availability are confirmed.
5. In TransitAvailable carrier, route, status or tracking information is communicated through the applicable transaction-support channel as it becomes available.
6. DeliveryThe asset is delivered to the approved destination or made available through an approved pickup arrangement, and applicable delivery records are completed.

Before Your Vehicle or Asset Is Released

Under5K does not release an asset to a carrier solely because a purchase was initiated. Before release, the transaction must reach the appropriate cleared status. This can include confirmation of the required purchase amount, verification of buyer and transaction information, preparation or confirmation of applicable sale and ownership-transfer documents, and issuance of release instructions.

This process helps prevent a vehicle or other asset from being released under incomplete, mismatched or unauthorized transaction information. Once the transaction is cleared, transportation coordination can proceed according to the listing and final transaction documents.

Shipping Cost & Responsibility

The shipping arrangement is displayed for each individual listing. The listing and final transaction documents control the arrangement applicable to the purchase.

Free ShippingThe buyer portion of the approved shipping cost is 0%. Under5K or the applicable seller side is responsible for the approved transportation cost under the listing terms.
Shipping Included / ArrangedTransportation is coordinated as part of the transaction according to the terms displayed for that listing. Any buyer responsibility is stated before shipment is finalized.
Buyer Pays ShippingThe buyer is responsible for 100% of the approved shipping amount or transportation quote confirmed for that transaction.
Shared ShippingThe buyer and seller portions are divided according to the percentage or amount displayed for the specific listing and confirmed in the transaction documentation.

If the final transportation amount depends on route, asset dimensions, loading requirements, non-running condition, access restrictions or other shipment details, the applicable amount or quote is confirmed before shipment is finalized.

Carrier Assignment

The carrier or transportation method is selected according to the type and condition of the asset, origin and destination, equipment requirements, route availability and scheduling. Passenger vehicles and light trucks may use standard vehicle transport, while motorcycles, RVs, campers, oversized assets, non-running vehicles or specialized inventory may require different equipment or handling.

Carrier information is provided when available and appropriate for the transaction. A carrier assignment can change before pickup if availability, equipment, route or scheduling conditions require reassignment.

Tracking & Shipment Updates

Tracking for vehicle and equipment transportation does not always operate like parcel-package tracking. Depending on the carrier, shipment updates may be provided through a carrier reference, dispatch status, pickup confirmation, estimated arrival information, driver or carrier updates, or another available transportation record.

When tracking or status information is available for an active shipment, it is communicated through the applicable Under5K account, transaction message, email, telephone or other authorized support channel. Buyers should use the shipment information associated with their specific order rather than relying on a generic delivery estimate.

Pickup Confirmation

Once the carrier takes possession of the asset, the transaction record may include pickup confirmation, carrier information, date or time information and available transportation documentation. Pickup confirmation means the asset has entered the transportation stage; it does not necessarily mean that the estimated delivery date is guaranteed.

Delivery Estimates & Scheduling

Pickup and delivery dates are estimates or scheduled windows unless a specific written commitment is included in the transaction documents. Transit time can be affected by distance, weather, traffic, carrier scheduling, route changes, loading requirements, mechanical condition, access restrictions, regulatory requirements and other transportation conditions.

If material scheduling information changes after dispatch, available updated information is communicated through the transaction-support process.

Delivery Address & Changes

The delivery destination must match the approved transaction and shipping information. A requested address change should be submitted to Buyer Support before carrier release whenever possible.

Address changes after dispatch may require carrier approval, route changes, additional transportation cost or a revised delivery window. For security reasons, Under5K or the carrier may require confirmation before redirecting an active shipment.

Who May Receive the Delivery

The buyer or an authorized recipient should be available according to the agreed delivery arrangement. Where recipient identification, signature, delivery acknowledgment or other release confirmation is required, the recipient must satisfy the applicable delivery requirements before the asset is released.

If someone other than the buyer will receive the asset, notify Buyer Support in advance so any required authorization can be documented before delivery.

Delivery Inspection

At delivery, the buyer or authorized recipient should reasonably inspect the exterior and accessible condition of the asset before acknowledging receipt. Compare the delivered asset with the available transaction and transportation information and review any carrier delivery documentation presented for signature.

Visible transportation-related damage or a material delivery discrepancy should be photographed and noted on the carrier or delivery record when possible before the carrier departs.

Transport Damage

If an asset appears to have sustained damage during transportation, document the condition promptly with clear photographs or video and preserve the carrier paperwork, delivery acknowledgment and other relevant records. Contact Buyer Support as soon as reasonably possible so the transportation record can be reviewed and the applicable claim process can be coordinated.

Responsibility for an approved transportation-damage claim depends on the applicable shipping arrangement, carrier documentation, transaction records and circumstances of the loss. Do not authorize non-emergency repairs related to a transport-damage claim before receiving claim instructions when prior review is reasonably possible.

Transportation Coverage & Carrier Documentation

Transportation protection, carrier responsibility and claim procedures can vary according to the carrier and shipment arrangement. Any carrier insurance, cargo coverage, declared-value treatment, deductible, limitation or claim requirement applicable to a shipment is governed by the transportation arrangement and related documentation.

Under5K does not describe every shipment as having identical insurance terms. Buyers should refer to the transportation information provided for their specific transaction and contact Buyer Support with questions before shipment when clarification is needed.

Failed or Missed Delivery

If the buyer or authorized recipient is unavailable for a scheduled delivery, the carrier may need to reschedule, hold, redirect or otherwise coordinate another delivery attempt. Additional carrier, storage, redelivery or route costs caused by buyer unavailability may be the buyer’s responsibility when permitted by the transaction and shipping terms.

If you know you cannot receive a scheduled delivery, contact Buyer Support as early as possible.

Local or Buyer-Arranged Pickup

Local or buyer-arranged pickup may be available only when permitted for the specific listing and transaction. Pickup must be approved and coordinated in advance, and the transaction must be cleared for release before the asset can be collected.

A buyer or third-party transporter should not arrive at an asset location without confirmed pickup authorization and scheduling information.

Non-Running, Oversized & Special-Handling Inventory

Non-running vehicles, oversized RVs or campers, motorcycles, unusually configured assets or inventory requiring special loading equipment can require additional coordination. Known special-handling requirements are considered when arranging transportation and may affect carrier selection, cost and timing.

Documents at or After Delivery

Transportation paperwork and transaction or ownership documents are not necessarily delivered in the same manner. Delivery documentation may accompany the asset or be completed with the carrier, while original title or ownership-transfer documents that require separate handling may be provided through the documented transaction process.

Buyers should retain shipping records, delivery acknowledgments, invoices, Bills of Sale, title or ownership-transfer documents and other transaction records received in connection with the purchase.

Returns & Warranty After Delivery

Delivery does not eliminate an applicable written return or warranty protection. Eligible purchases remain subject to the 30-day return protection and 6-month limited warranty described in the applicable Buyer Protection and transaction documents.

A transportation-damage issue, return request and warranty claim are different processes and may require different documentation. Buyer Support can help identify the appropriate process for the reported issue.

Transaction-Specific Terms Control

This page explains the general Under5K shipping and delivery process. The shipping terms displayed on the individual listing, together with the final transaction documents and transaction-specific communications, apply to that particular purchase.

Shipping Support

For a question about shipping for a specific listing or active transaction, contact Buyer Support and include the listing, order or shipment information when available. Registered buyers should use Messages & Support inside My Account when the question relates to an existing transaction so Support can connect the request to the appropriate record.

BUYER PROCESS

How It Works

From browsing to delivery, Under5K keeps the major steps of an eligible marketplace transaction connected through your buyer account. Review the listing, verify your account, establish buying power, bid or use Buy It Now, complete the transaction requirements, follow shipping updates and retain your purchase documents after delivery.

Placing a bid does not mean you paid for the item.
A bid records your offer and may reserve the corresponding buying power while it remains active. If another buyer outbids you and no transaction is created from your bid, you are not charged for that item and the reservation is released according to the account process.

9. DeliveryReceive and inspect the asset and retain the applicable delivery and ownership records.
10. Protection & SupportEligible return, warranty and Buyer Support processes remain available after delivery according to their terms.

1. Browse Inventory

Browse cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, RVs and campers and open the individual listing before deciding whether to bid or purchase. A listing may include photographs, video, specifications, mileage or operating hours, VIN or serial information where available, condition and accident-history information, completed work, inspection information, current bid, Buy It Now price and listing-specific shipping terms.

Review the actual listing rather than assuming every product has the same source, condition, shipping arrangement or transaction terms.

2. Create Your Buyer Account

General marketplace information can be viewed publicly. A buyer account provides access to account-specific features such as verification status, Buying Power, bids, funding requests, withdrawals, orders, documents and Messages & Support.

Keep your contact information accurate because transaction, verification, shipping and support communications may rely on the information associated with your account.

3. Complete Identity Verification

Protected buyer actions require an approved verified account. Submit the requested government-issued photo identification through the verification process and wait for review before attempting actions that require verified status.

Verification can unlock protected listing and transaction features, including full VIN or member-only information where applicable. Verification is a security requirement; it does not guarantee that a particular listing remains available or that a transaction will be completed.

4. Add Funds & Establish Buying Power

Funding is managed from My Account. Start the funding request, follow the instructions displayed for that request and retain any applicable receipt or confirmation. A funding request is not itself a vehicle purchase.

When a time-limited retail funding barcode or instruction is used, complete only the currently active request. If it expires, do not reuse it. The account should be relied upon only after the funding status has been confirmed and the applicable amount is reflected as available Buying Power.

If a requested funding amount requires multiple authorized steps or visits, complete the current step and its required confirmation before proceeding to the next instruction displayed by the account.

5. Understand Buying Power

Buying Power is the amount currently available for eligible marketplace activity after applicable reservations. An active bid can temporarily reserve part of that amount so the same funds are not simultaneously committed to multiple incompatible transactions.

A reservation is not the same thing as charging you for the vehicle. If the reservation is no longer required and has not moved into a confirmed purchase, the applicable amount is released back to available Buying Power.

6. Place a Bid

On an eligible live auction, a verified buyer with sufficient Buying Power can submit a qualifying bid. The listing shows the current auction information and applicable minimum bidding requirements.

After a successful bid, the applicable amount may be reserved while the bid remains active. Continue to review the auction status from the listing or your buyer account.

If Someone Outbids You

If another buyer submits a higher qualifying bid, your earlier bid no longer controls the auction. You are not charged for the item simply because you previously placed that bid. If no purchase transaction was created from your bid, the related reservation is released according to the account process and the funds remain associated with your buyer account for another eligible transaction or withdrawal, subject to the applicable terms.

7. What Happens If You Win

When an auction concludes and your qualifying bid proceeds as the transaction, the listing moves from active bidding into the purchase process. The applicable amount can move from an active-bid reservation into the confirmed transaction rather than returning to general Buying Power.

The buyer should then review the order, product information, purchase amount, shipping arrangement and transaction documents shown or provided for that purchase. Buyer Support can assist if a material detail does not match the listing or account transaction.

8. Buy It Now

Where a listing offers Buy It Now, an eligible verified buyer can initiate the transaction at the displayed fixed price when the applicable account requirements are satisfied. Buy It Now is different from placing a bid because it is intended to move the listing directly into the purchase process rather than waiting for the auction to conclude.

After the action is confirmed, review the order and transaction requirements in My Account. Product availability, account status and transaction documentation still apply until the purchase process is completed.

9. Review the Transaction Before Payment or Release

Before completing the purchase requirements, review the buyer name, product, VIN or serial information where applicable, purchase amount, shipping responsibility, condition and inspection information, return terms, written warranty information and transaction documents.

If payment or transaction instructions unexpectedly differ from the information associated with your account or purchase, contact Buyer Support before proceeding.

10. Transaction & Ownership Documents

The applicable documents are prepared for the specific buyer, product and transaction. Depending on the asset and jurisdiction, these may include an invoice, purchase agreement, Bill of Sale, title or ownership-transfer documentation, odometer disclosure, lien-release documentation where applicable, serial or registration records, shipping documents and delivery or acceptance records.

The exact document package depends on the product and existing ownership records. Original documents that require separate handling may be delivered separately from the asset through the documented transaction process.

11. Why the Purchase Is Completed Before Carrier Release

Under5K marketplace delivery is the fulfillment stage of a completed transaction, not a cash-on-delivery process. Unless the final transaction documents expressly provide otherwise, the required purchase amount is completed and confirmed before the asset is released to the carrier.

This allows the confirmed buyer, product, ownership-transfer records, release authorization and transportation documents to be matched before the asset leaves its location. Completing payment does not cancel an applicable written return or warranty protection.

12. Release Clearance

After the required purchase steps are completed, the transaction reaches the appropriate release stage. Buyer information, payment status, applicable documentation and release instructions are confirmed before the vehicle or other asset is authorized for carrier pickup.

13. Shipping Arrangement

Shipping is listing-specific. A transaction may provide Free Shipping, Buyer Pays Shipping, Shared Shipping, Shipping Included/Arranged or another disclosed arrangement. The individual listing and final transaction documents determine the buyer and seller portions for that purchase.

Carrier selection can depend on product type, running condition, origin, destination, route, loading requirements and availability.

14. Tracking & Shipment Updates

Vehicle and equipment transport does not always provide parcel-style live tracking. Depending on the carrier, available shipment information can include dispatch status, carrier or driver information, pickup confirmation, a transportation reference, estimated arrival information and status updates.

When shipment-status information is available, it is communicated through the applicable buyer-account, transaction message, email, telephone or authorized support channel. Estimated pickup and delivery windows can change because of route, weather, traffic, carrier availability or other transportation conditions.

15. Delivery

The buyer or authorized recipient should be available according to the approved delivery arrangement. At delivery, reasonably inspect the asset and review the available carrier or delivery documentation before acknowledging receipt.

If visible transportation damage or a material delivery discrepancy is present, photograph it promptly and note it on available carrier documentation when possible before the carrier departs. Keep the relevant records and contact Buyer Support.

16. After Delivery

Keep the invoice, Bill of Sale, ownership or title-transfer documents, written warranty, shipping records, delivery acknowledgment and other transaction documents associated with the purchase. State title, registration, tax, inspection or other ownership-transfer requirements can require additional buyer action after delivery.

17. 30-Day Return Protection

Eligible purchases include the applicable 30-calendar-day return process beginning on documented delivery. A buyer requesting a return must contact Buyer Support within the applicable period and obtain return authorization before shipping or surrendering the product.

Approved seller-responsibility returns and buyer-preference returns can have different transportation and cost responsibilities. Review the Buyer Protection and transaction documents for the specific purchase.

18. 6-Month Limited Warranty

Eligible purchases include the applicable 6-month limited written warranty. Approved parts and labor for a defect specifically covered by that written warranty are handled according to its terms. Buyer-caused collision damage, misuse, neglect, unauthorized modifications, routine maintenance, normal wear and other excluded conditions remain the buyer’s responsibility unless the written warranty states otherwise.

Contact Buyer Support before authorizing non-emergency warranty repairs whenever prior authorization is reasonably possible.

19. Withdraw Unused Available Funds

Eligible unused available funds can be handled through the withdrawal process in My Account. Amounts still reserved for active bids, pending purchases, pending withdrawals or other unresolved account obligations are not available for another withdrawal until released.

20. Messages, Documents & Ongoing Support

Use Messages & Support inside My Account for questions tied to a specific listing, bid, funding request, withdrawal, order, shipment, return or warranty matter. Keeping transaction-specific communication connected to the account helps Buyer Support identify the relevant record.

Official phone and email options are also available from the Contact page.

ABOUT UNDER5K

The marketplace brings inventory information, buyer verification, bidding and fixed-price purchase options, transaction documentation, shipping coordination and Buyer Support into one structured experience.

What Under5K Offers

Affordable InventoryBrowse available vehicles and recreational inventory with product-specific pricing, specifications, condition information and transaction options.
Live AuctionsEligible verified buyers can participate in active auction listings and follow current bidding information through the marketplace.
Buy It NowSelected listings offer a fixed-price purchase option for buyers who prefer to initiate a transaction without waiting for an auction to conclude.

A Structured Marketplace Experience

Under5K is designed to keep the major stages of a marketplace transaction connected. Buyers can browse inventory publicly, create an account, complete identity verification, review protected listing information, participate in bidding or Buy It Now transactions, manage eligible account activity and communicate with Buyer Support as the transaction progresses.

The exact features available depend on the listing, product type, account status and transaction stage.

How the Marketplace Works

1. BrowseReview current inventory, photographs, specifications, condition information, pricing and listing-specific purchase options.
2. Register & VerifyCreate a buyer account and complete identity verification to unlock protected transaction features.
3. Bid or BuyParticipate in an eligible live auction or use Buy It Now when the listing offers a fixed-price purchase option.
4. Complete the TransactionReview the applicable purchase, funding, documentation and shipping information associated with the transaction.
5. Delivery & DocumentsShipping or delivery is coordinated according to the listing and final transaction documents, together with applicable ownership documentation.
6. Buyer SupportSupport remains available for transaction, shipping, return, warranty and documentation questions.

Live Auctions & Buy It Now

Under5K supports both auction-style and fixed-price marketplace transactions. Live Auction listings allow eligible verified buyers to submit bids while the auction is active. If another buyer places a higher qualifying bid, the earlier bidder is outbid and is not charged merely because the earlier bid was placed.

Buy It Now listings provide a displayed fixed-price option. Some listings may support one purchase method while others may provide more than one transaction option. The individual listing identifies the options currently available.

Verified Buyer Access & Security

General marketplace information is available for public browsing, while certain information and transaction actions are restricted to registered buyers. Identity verification helps protect account-specific and transaction-specific features and may be required before access to full VIN information, bidding, purchasing, funding, withdrawals, documents or other protected features.

Verification is part of the marketplace security process and does not by itself guarantee acceptance or completion of a particular transaction.

Clear Listing Information

Listings are organized around the specific product and may include photographs, video, specifications, mileage or operating hours, VIN or serial information where applicable, location, condition, accident-history information when available, inspection or completed-work information, current pricing, bidding information, Buy It Now availability and listing-specific shipping terms.

Information that does not apply to a particular product is not created merely to complete a listing. For example, a VIN or serial number is displayed only where the applicable product has one and the information is available for that listing.

Inspection & Service Information

Where available for a listing, Under5K presents inspection information, completed service or maintenance details and other condition-related records relevant to the specific vehicle, RV, camper, motorcycle or other product. Available reports and completed-work information should be reviewed together with the listing photographs, specifications and transaction documents.

Buyer Protection

Eligible purchases are supported by the Buyer Protection terms presented by Under5K. These protections include the applicable 30-day return process and 6-month limited warranty described in the marketplace and transaction-specific documentation.

Return and warranty coverage depends on the applicable terms and the reason for the claim. Covered seller-responsibility conditions are handled differently from buyer-caused damage, misuse, unauthorized modifications, normal wear, routine maintenance and other conditions excluded by the applicable written warranty.

Payment & Transaction Completion

Under5K uses a documented transaction process rather than cash-on-delivery. Unless the final transaction documents expressly provide otherwise, the required purchase amount is completed and confirmed before the product is released for delivery.

This allows the buyer-specific invoice, ownership-transfer records, release authorization, shipping instructions and other applicable transaction documents to be completed before the product leaves its location. Completing payment before release does not eliminate an applicable return or written-warranty protection.

Transaction & Ownership Documentation

Each completed purchase includes the documents applicable to that product and transaction. Depending on the asset and jurisdiction, these may include an invoice, purchase agreement, Bill of Sale, title or ownership-transfer documents, odometer disclosure, lien-release documentation where applicable, registration- or serial-related records, shipping documentation and delivery or acceptance records.

Documents that can legally and practically accompany the product may be included with delivery documentation. Original documents requiring separate handling may be delivered through the appropriate documented method. Buyers should review and retain all transaction and ownership documents they receive.

Title, registration, taxes, inspections and ownership-transfer requirements vary by jurisdiction and product type, and the buyer may need to complete additional requirements with the applicable state agency.

Buyer Account, Buying Power & Funding

Eligible buyer account activity is managed through My Account. Available account funds can provide buying power for applicable marketplace transactions, while an active bid or pending transaction may temporarily reserve the corresponding amount.

If a buyer is outbid and no transaction has been created from that bid, the bid itself does not result in the buyer being charged for the product. Eligible unused available funds can be handled through the withdrawal process provided inside the buyer account.

Shipping & Delivery Coordination

Shipping is configured individually for each listing. Depending on the product and transaction, shipping may be free, buyer-paid, shared, included or otherwise arranged as disclosed for that listing. The applicable listing and final transaction documents determine the arrangement for the purchase.

Carrier, route, scheduling, pickup method and delivery information are coordinated as the transaction progresses and may vary according to origin, destination, product type and carrier availability.

Returns, Warranty & Post-Purchase Support

Buyer Support remains available after purchase for eligible return requests, warranty questions, shipping or delivery issues and transaction-document questions. Buyers should report a material delivery discrepancy or covered concern promptly and retain relevant photographs, carrier records, receipts and transaction documentation.

The applicable Buyer Protection terms, written warranty and final transaction documents govern product-specific return and warranty coverage.

Buyer Support

Registered buyers can use Messages & Support inside My Account for questions connected to a listing, verification, bid, purchase, funding request, withdrawal, shipping record, return, warranty matter or completed order. Official telephone and email contact options are also available through the Contact page.

Our Approach

Under5K is built around clear product information, verified buyer access, documented transactions, listing-specific shipping terms, buyer account tools and coordinated support from initial browsing through purchase, documentation, delivery and applicable post-purchase assistance.

The goal is to keep buyers informed about the specific product, the transaction stage and the documentation or action required next, without treating every listing or transaction as identical.

BUYER HELP

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about Under5K buyer accounts, verification, bidding, Buying Power, funding, purchases, documents, shipping, delivery, returns, warranty coverage and support.

Accounts & Verification

Do I need an account to browse?

No. General marketplace information can be browsed publicly. An account is required for account-specific and protected transaction features.

Why do I need identity verification?

Identity verification helps protect buyer accounts and transaction features. Verification may be required before access to protected information or actions such as full VIN details, bidding, purchasing, funding, withdrawals or transaction documents.

Does verification guarantee that I can buy a listing?

No. Verification establishes eligibility for protected features but does not guarantee that a particular listing remains available or that every transaction will be completed. Listing availability, Buying Power and transaction requirements still apply.

Where can I see my bids, orders, funding and messages?

Use My Account. It contains the buyer tools associated with your account, including applicable Buying Power, bids, orders, funding requests, withdrawals and Messages & Support.

Bidding & Buying Power

Is placing a bid the same as paying for the vehicle?

No. A bid is your offer to purchase at the submitted amount. Placing the bid itself does not mean Under5K has charged you for the vehicle.

Why is Buying Power reserved when I bid?

An active bid can temporarily reserve the corresponding Buying Power so the same amount is not simultaneously committed to incompatible transactions. A reservation is not the same as a completed purchase.

What happens if someone outbids me?

Your earlier bid no longer controls the auction. You are not charged for the item merely because you placed that bid. If no purchase transaction was created from it, the related reservation is released according to the account process and the amount returns to eligible available Buying Power.

Can I use released Buying Power again?

Yes, once the amount is shown as available and is not reserved for another active bid, pending purchase, withdrawal or other account obligation, it can be used for another eligible marketplace transaction.

What happens if I win an auction?

If your qualifying bid proceeds as the transaction when the auction concludes, the purchase moves from active bidding into the transaction process. Review the order, purchase amount, shipping arrangement and applicable documents in your account. The amount associated with the winning transaction may remain committed to that purchase rather than returning to general Buying Power.

Buy It Now

How is Buy It Now different from bidding?

Buy It Now is a fixed-price transaction option offered on selected listings. Instead of waiting for an auction to conclude, an eligible buyer can initiate the purchase at the displayed Buy It Now price, subject to account, availability and transaction requirements.

Does clicking Buy It Now immediately ship the vehicle?

No. The transaction must first complete the applicable purchase, documentation and release requirements. Shipping begins only after the transaction reaches the appropriate release stage.

Funding & Payment Confirmation

How do I add funds?

Funding requests are initiated through My Account. Follow only the current instructions shown for your active request and retain any applicable receipt or confirmation.

Is a funding request the same as buying a vehicle?

No. Funding establishes eligible account Buying Power. A vehicle purchase occurs only through the applicable bidding or Buy It Now transaction process.

What if a funding barcode expires?

Do not reuse an expired barcode or instruction. The expired funding instruction should no longer be treated as active, and a new request may be required through My Account.

How do I know funding was actually confirmed?

Do not rely only on a receipt, screenshot or initiation confirmation. Funding should be treated as available only after the applicable request has been reviewed or confirmed and the amount is reflected appropriately in your account.

Why must the purchase be completed before delivery?

Delivery is the fulfillment stage of a completed transaction, not a cash-on-delivery process. Unless the final transaction documents expressly provide otherwise, the required purchase amount is confirmed before carrier release so the buyer, asset, ownership-transfer records, release authorization and transportation records can be matched before shipment. Applicable return and written-warranty protections continue according to their terms after payment and delivery.

Documents, VIN & Title

When can I see the full VIN?

Where applicable, full VIN or other protected transaction information may be limited to verified-member access. The individual listing determines what information is available.

What documents do I receive with a completed purchase?

The document package depends on the product and jurisdiction. It may include an invoice, purchase agreement, Bill of Sale, title or ownership-transfer documentation, odometer disclosure, lien-release documentation where applicable, shipping records and delivery or acceptance records.

When do I receive the title or original ownership documents?

Documents that can legally and practically accompany the asset may be included with the delivery documentation. Original title or ownership documents requiring separate handling may be delivered through the documented transaction process separately from the asset.

What if a transaction document is missing or contains incorrect information?

Contact Buyer Support promptly and identify the order and affected document. Do not alter an official transaction or ownership document yourself when a corrected document is required.

Do title and registration requirements vary by state?

Yes. Title, registration, taxes, inspections and ownership-transfer requirements can vary by state and product type. The buyer may need to submit the provided documents or complete additional requirements with the applicable state agency.

Inspection & Condition

Are inspection reports available for every listing?

Inspection information and completed-work records are listing-specific. Where available, they are presented or made available for the applicable product. Not every asset necessarily has the same type or amount of supporting documentation.

Does an inspection mean the vehicle can never have a problem?

No. Inspection information describes available findings or completed work and should be reviewed together with the listing, photographs, video, condition information and applicable written warranty. Used vehicles and recreational assets can have age-, mileage- or use-related characteristics.

Shipping & Carrier Release

When is the vehicle released to the carrier?

Carrier release occurs after the transaction reaches the appropriate cleared stage. This can include confirmation of the required purchase amount, buyer and transaction information, applicable documentation and release authorization.

Who pays shipping?

Shipping is listing-specific. A listing may provide Free Shipping, Buyer Pays Shipping, Shared Shipping, Shipping Included/Arranged or another disclosed arrangement. The listing and final transaction documents determine the applicable buyer and seller portions.

What does Free Shipping mean?

For a listing marked Free Shipping, the buyer portion of the approved shipping cost is 0% under the applicable listing terms.

What does Buyer Pays Shipping mean?

The buyer is responsible for 100% of the approved transportation amount or quote confirmed for that transaction.

How does Shared Shipping work?

The buyer and seller portions are divided according to the percentage or amount shown for that specific listing and confirmed in the transaction documentation.

Will I receive tracking information?

When shipment-status or tracking information is available, it is communicated through the applicable account, transaction message, email, telephone or other authorized support channel.

Why doesn't vehicle shipping always have package-style live tracking?

Vehicle and equipment carriers do not all use parcel-style tracking systems. Depending on the carrier, available information may instead include dispatch status, carrier or driver information, pickup confirmation, a transportation reference, estimated arrival information or other shipment updates.

Can the carrier change after it is assigned?

Yes. Carrier assignment may change before pickup if availability, equipment, route or scheduling conditions require reassignment. Available updated information is provided through the transaction-support process.

Can I change the delivery address after purchase?

Contact Buyer Support before carrier release whenever possible. A change after dispatch may require carrier approval, route changes, additional transportation cost or a revised delivery window, and additional confirmation may be required for security.

Can someone else receive the vehicle for me?

Potentially, when the delivery arrangement permits it. Notify Buyer Support in advance so the authorized recipient can be documented and any identification, signature or delivery requirements can be confirmed.

Can I arrange local pickup?

Local or buyer-arranged pickup is available only when permitted for the specific listing and transaction. The transaction must be cleared for release and pickup must be approved and scheduled in advance.

What happens if I miss the scheduled delivery?

The carrier may need to reschedule, hold, redirect or coordinate another delivery attempt. Additional carrier, storage, redelivery or route costs caused by buyer unavailability may be the buyer's responsibility where permitted by the applicable transaction and shipping terms.

Delivery & Transport Damage

What should I do when the vehicle arrives?

Reasonably inspect the asset and review the available carrier or delivery documentation before acknowledging receipt. Keep the shipping and transaction records provided with the delivery.

What if I see transportation damage at delivery?

Photograph or video the condition promptly and note visible transportation-related damage on available carrier documentation when possible before the carrier departs. Preserve the paperwork and contact Buyer Support as soon as reasonably possible.

Who pays for transport damage?

Responsibility for an approved transportation-damage claim depends on the applicable shipping arrangement, carrier documentation, transaction records and circumstances of the loss. Buyer Support coordinates the applicable claim process; do not assume every carrier or shipment has identical coverage terms.

Should I repair transport damage immediately?

Emergency action reasonably necessary for safety or to prevent additional damage should be documented. For other transport-damage repairs, contact Buyer Support before authorizing work when prior review is reasonably possible so the applicable claim documentation can be preserved.

30-Day Return Protection

How do I start a return?

For an eligible purchase, contact Buyer Support within the applicable 30-calendar-day return period beginning on documented delivery. Obtain return authorization before shipping or surrendering the asset.

Who pays return shipping?

It depends on the reason for the approved return. A verified covered seller-responsibility condition, material listing error or covered documentation issue attributable to Under5K is handled according to the applicable Buyer Protection terms. For an otherwise eligible buyer-preference return, the buyer is responsible for return transportation and applicable non-covered costs.

Can I return a vehicle after modifying or damaging it?

Material post-delivery damage, alteration, missing items, misuse or other buyer-caused changes can affect return eligibility or the refundable amount to the extent permitted by the applicable return terms and law.

6-Month Limited Warranty

How do I make a warranty claim?

Contact Buyer Support with the order information and a description of the concern. Diagnostic information, photographs, estimates or other documentation may be requested to determine whether the condition is covered by the written warranty.

Should I repair the vehicle before contacting Under5K?

For non-emergency warranty repairs, contact Buyer Support before authorizing work whenever prior authorization is reasonably possible. Unauthorized work may not be reimbursable where prior authorization was available and required by the written warranty.

What does the 6-month limited warranty cover?

Coverage is determined by the written warranty applicable to the eligible product. Approved covered defects or component failures are handled according to that warranty. Buyer-caused collision damage, misuse, neglect, unauthorized modifications, routine maintenance, normal wear, consumables and other excluded conditions remain the buyer's responsibility unless the written warranty expressly states otherwise.

What's the difference between transport damage, a return and a warranty claim?

Transport damage concerns damage associated with shipment. A return is a request to return an eligible purchase under the applicable 30-day return terms. A warranty claim concerns an eligible defect or component failure covered by the written limited warranty. Because the documentation and responsibility can differ, contact Buyer Support if you are unsure which process applies.

Withdrawals

Can I withdraw unused Buying Power?

Eligible unused available funds can be handled through the withdrawal process in My Account. Amounts reserved for active bids, pending purchases, pending withdrawals or other unresolved account obligations are not available for another withdrawal until released.

Support & Security

What should I do if payment or transaction instructions look different than expected?

Do not proceed until the discrepancy is clarified. Use the official contact information displayed by Under5K or Messages & Support inside My Account to confirm the transaction before sending funds or acting on changed instructions.

What is the best way to contact Support about an existing order?

Use Messages & Support inside My Account so the question can be connected to the relevant listing, funding request, withdrawal, shipment or order. Official phone and email options are also available through the Contact page.

Add Funds

Add funds to your personal buyer account before placing bids or completing an instant purchase.

This is not a purchase or a payment.
You are adding funds to your own personal buyer account.
Funding required before bidding
Your verified available balance must be sufficient for the bid or instant purchase you want to place.

Step 1 — Deposit Request

Single-store funding request
For this amount, your funding request is handled as a single retail visit. Request your barcode only when you are ready to go to the selected retailer.
Retailer and location limits may apply.
Some participating locations may limit how much cash can be deposited during a single store visit. If your requested amount is higher than the configured store-visit limit, the site automatically separates your funding request into multiple store visits and shows exactly which barcode(s) belong to each visit.

Retail Deposit Barcodes — How Funding Works

BUYER ACCOUNT FUNDING

Retail deposit barcodes are used to identify a cash-funding request and associate the resulting deposit with the correct verified buyer account. This funding step is separate from paying a seller for a vehicle. The buyer presents the barcode at the selected participating retailer and completes the deposit there. The store receipt and the funding request provide records that can be reviewed before account funds are made available for eligible bidding or purchase activity.

1. Account-specific requestThe barcode is generated for the signed-in buyer and the amount and retailer selected in the funding request. It should not be transferred, sold, posted publicly, or shared with another person.
2. Deposit at the selected retailerPresent the active barcode to the cashier at the participating retailer shown in your request. Before paying, confirm that the amount you intend to deposit matches your request and follow the instructions displayed by the retailer.
3. Keep the store receiptThe receipt is important transaction evidence. Keep the original receipt until the deposit has been reviewed and the corresponding funds are reflected in your buyer account.
4. Account reviewA retail deposit may remain pending while the request, barcode and receipt information are reviewed. Availability is not represented as immediate until the account shows the funds as available.
Important terms and conditions
• A barcode is valid only for the buyer account and funding request for which it was generated.
• Use only the retailer and instructions shown for the active request. Retailer participation or cashier acceptance may vary by location.
• Barcodes marked READY are time-limited. The buyer account displays the remaining validity period. Do not attempt to use an expired barcode; request current instructions instead.
• Do not make a deposit if the barcode, retailer, requested amount or instructions do not match what is displayed in your buyer account.
• A retail deposit does not itself constitute acceptance of a bid, purchase, vehicle reservation, warranty, financing agreement, or transfer of vehicle ownership.
• Funds become usable only when the buyer account reflects the applicable available balance or the transaction status confirms that the funding step has been completed.
• Funding requests may be reviewed, delayed, rejected or require additional documentation when information cannot be matched or verified.
• Buyers should retain receipts and any related transaction records. Additional receipt verification may be requested before funds are credited or a transaction proceeds.
• Never send the barcode to a seller, marketplace contact, social-media contact, or another buyer. Under5K personnel should not need the buyer to transfer the barcode to another individual for that person to use.
Before you deposit
Check the amount, selected retailer, barcode status and countdown in your account. If anything is different from what you requested, do not proceed until the information has been reviewed. After completing the retail transaction, return to your buyer account and follow the receipt-submission or status instructions shown there.

Retail barcode funding is an account-funding workflow; it should not be interpreted as a guarantee of a vehicle purchase or as protection against every possible loss. Any buyer protections, transaction eligibility, refunds, returns, warranties or other purchase terms are governed by the applicable Under5K terms and the specific listing or transaction documentation.

Important — this barcode is for your personal account only.
You are not buying anything at the retailer and you are not sending money to another person. The cashier scans the barcode so the cash deposit can be applied to your own personal buyer account.

If the cashier asks what the barcode is for, you can simply say:
“I am making a cash deposit to my own personal account using this barcode.”
Do not describe it as a payment to another person, a gift-card purchase, or a transfer for someone else. Be accurate and answer any retailer verification questions truthfully.

Do not send, share, text, email, or photograph your barcode for anyone else. Do not give the barcode or any related code to another person. Present it yourself directly to the cashier at the selected participating retailer.
IMPORTANT — BARCODES EXPIRE IN 1 HOUR

Once generated, each deposit barcode is valid for only 1 hour. Request your barcode package only when you are near the selected retail location or ready to leave immediately. If unused barcodes expire, replacement barcodes may not be available immediately and a new request may require additional processing time.
Retail cash-deposit service fee
A service fee of up to $4.95 per barcode transaction may apply. The exact fee is shown or confirmed at the retail location.
